Israeli Judaica artist Shraga Landesman closely identifies with the world of nature and its symbols. The theme of this Seder Plate is spring and its message of growth and the awakening of new life. Indeed, another name for Pessach is Chag Ha’aviv – Festival of Spring – a reminder of the kindness of G-d, releasing us from Egypt during the mild spring weather.
On an anodized aluminum tray are six small white ceramic bowls each one holding one of the six Seder Plate items. Engraved around the plate are trees, birds and deer and the words from Shir Ha’shirim, “The blossoms have appeared in the land. The time of singing has arrived.”
