Twenty years ago, a life-changing 75-mile walk through the remote Namib desert brought single mother Samantha Skyring face-to-face with the exquisite gemsbok oryx and pure unrefined desert salt. Oryx Desert Salt was inspired by this epic encounter.

Unrefined and unprocessed, this 100% pure, crystal white, natural desert salt is harvested from a salt pan in the pristine Kalahari Desert. Salt water from an ancient underground brine lake is drawn into the salt pan and sun-dried, suffusing the salt with essential minerals and trace elements that have been balanced within the earth over millions of years. The simple harvesting process harmonizes sustainably with the natural rainfall, ensuring pure quality and flavor.

Bulk course salt is presented in handmade cotton drawstring bags that are crafted by a local women's cooperative. The 500g bulk bag is a perfect complement to a refillable grinder.
