This 925 sterling silver pendant is based on a Viking age lead alloy find from York. It is very similar to a number of gold pendants probably manufactured in Denmark and found in Hiddensee, Germany, which gives it's name to this type.
The York pendant is missing a lot of fine detail and so we used a find from Tolstrup, Denmark for reference.


The pendant measures approx. 41x47mm; and it weighs approx. 31g

It is supplied with a length of black leather thong, and cast in the UK. It has been hallmarked at the Birmingham assay office.
