Zimbabwean artists have long been renowned for their batiks. Whether it is a wall hanging or a wallet, the brilliant patterns and intricate designs of the batik clearly illustrates the artists’ talent. Cotton material is stamped with wax and painted or dipped in dye. The dye is set in a water bath and the wax lifted from the material using boiling water and hot irons. Each piece is exquisitely handmade and reflects the quality and beauty of Zimbabwe.
